PTI/PTO Hybrid System
- The speed of the engines can be optimized according to the actual load demand, resulting in fuel savings of up to 30% and a reduction in CO2 and NOx emissions.
- During normal operation (PTO), the shaft generator supplies power to the ship’s grid.
- When additional propulsion power is needed (PTI), the shaft generator draws power from the battery (peak Correction) or auxiliary generator sets.
- In the event of a main engine failure, the vessel can safely return to port using power from the ship’s generator sets and battery (“Take Me to Harbor”).
- Common DC busbar technology minimizes conversion losses and enables easy integration of the hybrid battery system.
- The microgrid converter ensures a stable and clean ship power supply with a constant frequency.
- The DC/DC converter optimizes battery charging and increases battery voltage stability.
- Shore power supply (Optional).
